By Gene Kissinger

We need to redeem the time as the passage in Ephesians 5 states BECAUSE the days are evil. It is vital as believers that we learn to discern. We need to acquire wisdom so we can walk in truth. Wisdom is word based and God given. We learn it from the word of God and ultimately from the God who gave us the Word. My brother Norman and I are going to be setting up a ministry and under this ministry umbrella we will establish a YouTube channel here

Stepping Stones to Spiritual Strength

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." - 2 Peter 3:18 KJV

Just as you've embarked on a journey of physical fitness by taking small yet significant steps, spiritual fitness too can be nurtured through gradual and consistent efforts. The essence of growth, both physical and spiritual, lies in the willingness to start, no matter how small the beginning may seem.

Here a Little, There a Little

In the realm of the spirit, every act of faith, every moment spent in prayer, and every scripture pondered upon contributes to our spiritual endurance. Like the body that strengthens with each climb up the stairs, our spirit fortifies with every truth we embrace and apply.

Line Upon Line

Our spiritual journey is a progression, not a sprint. It's about adding layer upon layer of understanding, precept upon precept, building a robust foundation of faith that can withstand the winds of doubt and the storms of life.

From Faith to Faith

With each step forward, our faith deepens. What begins as a mustard seed of belief blossoms into a tree of trust, rooted in the knowledge of God's grace and love. It's a transformative process that turns the smallest of starts into a lifetime of spiritual fitness.

The Starting Point

Remember, the smallest act in faith is infinitely more potent than the grandest intention. It's the starting point that sets the course for a journey of a thousand miles. So, take heart in the knowledge that something, indeed, is better than nothing, for it marks the beginning of growth.

Embraced by Grace: Living From Acceptance

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

In the journey of faith, we often face the towering giant of rejection, a formidable foe that whispers doubts and insecurities into our hearts. Yet, in the battle against this Goliath, we must remember a pivotal truth: we do not fight for acceptance from God; we fight from the acceptance of God.

Consider the moment Jesus emerged from the waters of the Jordan River. Before He had performed any miracles, before He had fed the multitudes or raised Lazarus, God declared from the heavens, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17 KJV). Jesus had not yet embarked on His public ministry, yet He was already enveloped in the Father's approval.

This divine endorsement was not a result of Jesus's works; it was a testament to His identity. Similarly, our acceptance by God is not a trophy to be earned through deeds or merits. It is a matter of grace, a gift freely given, independent of our actions.

As we navigate through life's challenges, let us draw strength from this profound truth. Our worth in the eyes of the Almighty is not contingent upon our successes or failures. We are cherished because we are His creation, crafted in His image, and redeemed by His love.

So let us live not for the acceptance of God, but from it. Let our actions, our love, our very lives be an outpouring of the grace that has already claimed us. For in understanding that we are accepted, we find the courage to slay our giants and the freedom to fulfill our God-given potential.

Change Your Thoughts

Change Your Thoughts

Change Your Thoughts #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..." -Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)

Our thoughts have incredible power to shape our lives. The Bible tells us that as a person thinks in their heart, so they are. In other words, our inner thought life determines the course and quality of our outer lives.

The Israelites are a prime example. After being miraculously delivered from slavery in Egypt, their minds remained imprisoned by negative thinking. Despite God's daily supernatural provision, they grumbled and complained, viewing their circumstances through the lens of lack and limitation.

How often do we fall into the same trap? We face each day thinking "I have to go to work" or "I have to deal with this problem" rather than "I get to use my abilities to provide for my family" and "I have an opportunity to grow and overcome challenges."

When we change our perspective, we change our reality. Choosing to think hope-filled, positive thoughts aligns us with God's goodness and primes us to receive His blessings. As Jesus said, "According to your faith be it unto you." (Matthew 9:29)

Today, refuse to be held captive by negative thought patterns. Win the battle in your mind by taking each thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Fix your thoughts on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). As you transform your thinking, expect to see your life transformed!

Let's pray: "Lord, forgive me for negative thoughts that have held me back. I choose to think as You think - thoughts of hope and blessing. Renew my mind and help me view my life through eyes of faith. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Back To Bethel #RTTBROA #Nightlight

Back To Bethel #RTTBROA #Nightlight

Back To Bethel Gen 35:1 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Back to Bethel

King James Version (Genesis 35:1)

"And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother."

In the journey of life, there are moments when we encounter God in profound ways. These are the Bethel moments– the times when heaven touches earth, and our hearts are forever changed. But as time passes, we often drift away from those sacred places and lose sight of the impact they had on our lives.

When Jacob received this divine instruction to return to Bethel, it wasn't just about revisiting a physical location. It was a call to reconnect with the God who had met him there. Bethel was the place where Jacob had seen the ladder reaching to heaven, where angels ascended and descended. It was a place of encounter, revelation, and transformation.

Similarly, in our lives, there are Bethel moments – times when God revealed Himself, spoke to our hearts, and changed our course. Maybe it was during a worship service, a quiet prayer, or a moment of crisis. These are the places where we felt His presence, heard His voice, and knew we were not alone.

But life has a way of pulling us away. We get busy, distracted, and sometimes wounded. We forget the promises made at Bethel. We lose sight of the altar we built there. And in the process, we disconnect from the God who met us.

Yet, just as God instructed Jacob to return to Bethel, He invites us to do the same. It's not about physical travel; it's about a heart journey. We need to go back to those sacred moments, those altars of encounter, and rekindle our relationship with God.

And it's not just about us. Bethel was also a place of reconciliation for Jacob. It was where he made peace with Esau, the brother he had deceived. Going back to Bethel meant facing the past, forgiving, and rebuilding broken relationships.

Likewise, as we return to our spiritual Bethels, we may find people waiting – those who impacted our lives, those we need to forgive, and those we need to embrace. It's a place of healing, restoration, and renewed connections.

So, let's heed the call: "Arise, go up to Bethel." Let's revisit those moments of encounter, build new altars, and reconnect with God. And as we do, may we also find reconciliation with others – for Bethel is not just a place; it's a sacred space where heaven meets earth and hearts are forever changed.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help us return to our spiritual Bethels. Remind us of the moments when You touched our lives. Rekindle our passion, renew our faith, and restore broken relationships. In Jesus' name, amen.

A Quiet Comfort 2 Cor 1:3-4 #RTTBROS #Nightlight
A Quiet Comfort

"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;"- 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

I was listening to a young mom talk about an exercise where she promised herself she would write one positive thing that happened to her down on a list at the end of each day. she was doing really good until one day in May she miscarried Twins and had to come home and tell her other children who knew she was expecting the devastating news. She told herself she wasn't going to "play this stupid game" of writing the positive thing. She had made a promise to herself so she did it anyway. She wrote down "I liked the way my husband tucked me into bed after I got home from the hospital. It made me feel loved.". She said that list making plan helped her get through that crisis time.

In the quiet moments of despair, when the world seems to crumble and joy feels like a distant memory, it is the tender mercies of our loved ones that can become the balm for our aching hearts. The young mother's story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, the power of love, and the strength found in the promises we make to ourselves.

As she faced the heart-wrenching loss of her unborn twins, the ritual of finding one positive thing each day became a lifeline—a beacon of hope in the darkest of times. It was not just about finding joy, but about recognizing the presence of love even when it seemed elusive.

Her husband's simple act of tucking her into bed was a whisper of God's comfort, a reminder that she was not alone in her grief. The warmth of that gesture wrapped around her like a blanket, offering solace and a sense of being cherished.

This devotion is an invitation to all who grieve, who suffer, and who struggle to find a glimmer of light in their trials. Let us hold fast to the small acts of kindness, the gentle words, and the quiet support that come our way. For in these, we find the strength to endure, the courage to heal, and the hope to carry on.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."- Psalms 23:4

May we all, like the young mother, find our comfort in the love that surrounds us, and may we emerge from our valleys of shadows with a renewed spirit and a heart ready to embrace the joys that await us.

Prelude to Rest #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Prelude to Rest #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Prelude Of Rest Gen 1:5 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Prelude of Rest

Genesis 1:5 (KJV)

"And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day."

As we reflect upon the divine order of creation, we find a profound principle woven into the fabric of time itself: the day begins not with the sunrise, but with the sunset. The sacred rhythm established by our Creator teaches us that preparation for what is to come starts in the quiet moments of the evening.

In the hush of twilight, we are invited to lay down the burdens of the day that has passed and turn our hearts toward the promise of the new day. It is in this sacred space that we can align our attitudes with the peace that surpasses understanding, setting our intentions and plans under the watchful care of the Almighty.

Just as the Lord ordained rest before work in the creation narrative, so too should we embrace rest as the starting point of our endeavors. By resting in God's presence, we recharge our spirits and awaken to a day already blessed by His grace. And as we follow the example of our Creator, who rested on the seventh day, we acknowledge that our strength is renewed not in ceaseless toil, but in restorative rest.

Let us, therefore, begin each day the night before, casting our cares upon Him who cares for us, and rising with the dawn, ready to step into the divine story He has written for us. For in the pattern of creation, we find the blueprint for a life lived in harmony with the Creator's design—a life of purpose, peace, and rest.

Battling Life Dismorphia #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Battling Life Dismorphia 1 Thess 5:18 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Battling Life Dismorphia

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." - **1 Thessalonians 5:18** (KJV)

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, it's easy to overlook the simple blessings that each day brings. We live in an era of unprecedented comfort and convenience, a stark contrast to the lives of those who came before us. Yet, despite our wealth and technological advances, contentment often eludes us. This phenomenon, known as "life dysmorphia," stems from the hedonic treadmill – the idea that no matter how much we acquire or achieve, our level of happiness tends to return to a baseline over time.

As we reflect on this, let's turn our hearts to gratitude. A century ago, the luxury of a hot shower was unimaginable to most. Today, it's a daily ritual that we scarcely notice. But imagine for a moment life without it – the warmth, the cleansing, the comfort it provides. It's a small miracle, a gift of modernity that we should cherish.

Let us then approach each day with a renewed sense of appreciation. Let's be mindful of the blessings that we often take for granted and remember that every good gift comes from above. By adopting an attitude of gratitude, we align ourselves with God's will and open our hearts to the true richness of life – a richness that isn't measured in material wealth, but in love, joy, and thankfulness.

May we not only count our blessings but also make our blessings count, by sharing our abundance with others and spreading the warmth of God's love wherever we go. For in giving, we receive, and in being thankful, we find joy.

Joy is counting your blessing and subtracting envy.

Fearless PS. 91:5 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Fearless in the Face of Night's Terrors

"Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;" (Psalm 91:5, KJV)

In our modern world, the "terror by night" may manifest in various forms – the blaring of a fire alarm, the sound of a break-in, the sudden onset of illness, or the devastating news of a loved one's passing. We live in a world filled with sorrow and the ever-present specter of death. It's natural to anticipate facing hardships and difficulties, whether in the dark of night or the brightness of day. However, as believers, we are promised that we need not be afraid, no matter what terror we may encounter.

But why should we, as children of God, be fearless in the face of these terrors? The answer lies in the comforting truth that our Heavenly Father is always with us, throughout even the loneliest and darkest of hours. He is our omnipotent Watchman, our tireless Guardian, and our faithful Friend. Nothing can happen without His sovereign permission, and even the depths of hell are subject to His authority. The darkness is as clear as day to Him, and He has promised to be a wall of fire around His people – an impenetrable barrier against all harm.

While those who do not believe in Christ may have reason to fear, with a Holy God above, a guilty conscience within, and a real Hell below, we who find our rest in Jesus are saved from these terrors by His abundant mercy. If we give in to baseless fears, we risk dishonoring our testimony and causing others to question the authenticity of our faith. Instead, we must stand firm, resisting the temptation to be afraid, lest we grieve the Holy Spirit through our lack of trust.

So, let us cast aside all gloomy thoughts and unfounded fears. God has not forgotten to be gracious, nor has He withheld His mercy. Even if our souls are shrouded in darkness, we need not be terrified, for the God of love remains unchanging.

Though the night may be dark and dreary, the darkness cannot hide us from our loving Father. He is the One who, tirelessly, watches over His children with a protective gaze. Take heart, for in Him, we can find peace and security, even in the midst of life's most terrifying moments.

Standing In Grace #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Standing In Grace #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Standing In Grace #RTTBROS #Nightlight

“Let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.” - 1 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)

Consider 6 Thoughts toward standing strong in God's grace.

1. The Transparency of Scripture Unlike biographies that may overlook flaws, Scripture candidly reveals the faults of its heroes, teaching us that even in the wake of spiritual victories, we must be vigilant against potential defeats.

2. The Heroes’ Downfall Noah, despite his faithfulness in building the ark, fell into drunkenness post-flood. Abram, on his journey of faith, lied in Egypt, and David, after defeating Goliath, committed grave sins. Their stories serve as cautionary tales, reminding us of the dangers of complacency and self-reliance.

3. A.W. Pink’s Insight Theologian A.W. Pink noted .“God suffers it to appear that the best of men are but men at the best. No matter how richly gifted they may be, how eminent in God’s service, how greatly honoured and used of Him, let His sustaining power be withdrawn from them for a moment and it will quickly be seen that they are ‘earthen vessels.’ No man stands any longer than he is supported by Divine grace. The most experienced saint, if left to himself, is immediately seen to be as weak as water and as timid as a mouse.” This humbling truth emphasizes our need for divine support to stand firm.

4. God’s Sustaining Grace God graciously provides us with righteousness, salvation, truth, and His word, enabling us to withstand trials and temptations, not by our strength but through His enduring support.

5. The True Way of Escape Acknowledging our frailties, we find our way of escape through Jesus Christ, relying on God’s grace to sustain our faith and growth, just as Noah, Abraham, and David did.

6. Reflection and Action Reflect on how God is shaping your thoughts and actions today. Let the biblical examples of reliance on God’s grace inspire your daily walk of faith.

For further contemplation, read 1 Corinthians 10:1–13, which reinforces the message of God’s provision and the importance of depending on His grace.

A Faith that can't be tested can't be trusted!

GOD IF ALL COMFORT #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT

GOD IF ALL COMFORT #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT

God Of All Comfort #nightlight #RTTBROS
Verse:
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (KJV) - "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."

Devotion:
In this fallen world, we all face trials, tribulations, and suffering. As Christians, we are not exempt from these challenges. Even the Apostle Paul, a chosen vessel of God, endured immense hardships, including beatings, shipwrecks, and persecution. However, Paul understood that his suffering had a purpose – to bring comfort to others who were going through similar trials.

Just as Paul received comfort from God during his afflictions, we too can find solace in the Lord. God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He is with us in our darkest moments, providing strength, peace, and hope. When we turn to Him in prayer and trust in His unfailing love, He will guide us through the valleys and lead us to green pastures (Psalm 23:2-4).

Moreover, our suffering is not in vain. God uses our experiences to mold us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. As we navigate through the fires of adversity, the impurities in our lives rise to the surface, allowing us to repent and grow in faith. Just as a silversmith refines silver until he can see his reflection in it, God refines us until we reflect His character.

Furthermore, our trials equip us to minister to others who are hurting. By sharing the comfort we have received from God, we become a living testimony of His grace and mercy. Our stories of overcoming become a handbook of deliverance for those who are struggling. As we come alongside them with empathy and understanding, we point them to the ultimate source of comfort – our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

So, let us not lose heart when faced with tribulations. Instead, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). May we allow God to use our suffering for His glory and the edification of His people. And may we always be ready to extend the same comfort we have received to those in need, knowing that our God is the God of all comfort.

The New Tool #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT

The New Tool #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT

The New Tool #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT

Scripture: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30, KJV)

Devotion: In this passage, Jesus extends a loving invitation to all who are weary and burdened. Life in this fallen world is full of trials, hardships, and heavy loads that can exhaust us physically, mentally, and spiritually. But Jesus tells us to come to Him to find rest.

When we come to Jesus in faith, He doesn't remove all our burdens, but He gives us a new "yoke" - His yoke. In ancient times, a yoke was a wooden crosspiece fastened over the necks of two animals to help them work together in pulling a load. Jesus says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. When we are yoked together with Him, He carries the weight and guides us.

What makes Jesus' yoke easy is that He is "meek and lowly in heart." He is gentle, humble, and understanding. He knows our weaknesses and limitations. When we walk closely with Him and learn from Him, we find rest for our souls even in the midst of life's burdens.

Being yoked with Jesus doesn't mean a trouble-free life, but it means facing troubles with His strength, guidance and companionship. It's a shared burden and a shared journey. May we accept Jesus' invitation daily to cast our cares on Him and find rest in relationship with Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your incredible invitation to find rest for my soul. Forgive me for trying to carry my burdens in my own strength. I come to You now, weary and heavy-laden, and ask You to yoke me together with Yourself. Teach me Your ways and help me to walk in step with You. Thank You for Your gentleness, Your understanding, and Your sustaining presence. In Your name I pray, Amen.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” - James 1:12 (KJV)

The Silversmith’s Reflection

In the heat of the fire, a silversmith works diligently, refining silver until it’s pure. He explains that the silver must be kept in the hottest part of the flame to burn away all impurities. His constant attention ensures it doesn’t burn; he knows it’s ready when he sees his own image reflected in the gleaming metal.

just as the silversmith sees his image in the refined silver, God watches over us through our trials until He sees His reflection in us.

In the midst of trials, it may seem easier to falter and lose hope. But remember, it is the testing of our faith that produces perseverance. Let us embrace these challenges, not as burdens, but as opportunities to grow closer to God, to lean on His strength, and to renew our faith.

As we continue to endure, let us do so with joy, knowing that the trials we face are not in vain. They are shaping us, molding us into the image of Christ, preparing us for the eternal glory that awaits.

So let us stand firm, with our eyes fixed on the Lord, for He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. And in His perfect time, He will stablish, strengthen, and settle us, making us perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image reflected in you.

The Power of Constant Prayer #RTTBROS #Nightlight

"Pray without ceasing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)

Our lives are filled with ups and downs, joys and sorrows, triumphs and challenges. In the midst of life's ever-changing landscape, there is one constant that can keep us grounded, encouraged, and filled with hope: prayer. As the unknown author wisely stated, "For a better morning talk with God First. For a Better night talk with God last. For a better life talk with God all day."

Just as wings enable a bird to soar high above the earth, and sails harness the wind to propel a ship across the sea, so too does prayer uplift and carry our souls through life's journey. Corrie Ten Boom, a woman of great faith who endured the horrors of a concentration camp, knew the sustaining power of prayer. She likened it to the very wings and sails that keep one aloft and moving forward.

The Bible urges us to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17). This doesn't mean we spend every waking moment on our knees, but rather that we cultivate an attitude of constant communion with God. Whether we're rejoicing on the mountaintops or trudging through the valleys, God is always ready and eager to hear from us.

As we begin and end each day talking with our Heavenly Father, and continually turn our thoughts to Him throughout the day, we experience the peace, strength, wisdom and joy that only He can provide. Let us commit to a life of constant prayer, trusting that God will guide, provide and sustain us every step of the way.

Unveiling the Unseen: Extending Grace in Life's Hidden Struggles

Bible Verse: "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." - Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)

Devotion:

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to get caught up in our own struggles and forget that everyone around us is fighting battles we know nothing about. The car with the "Learning stick sorry for any delay" sign serves as a poignant reminder of this truth.

Just as we extend patience and understanding to the driver learning to shift gears, we should offer the same grace to everyone we encounter. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32 to "be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

We may not see the signs of personal struggles, but they are there. Hidden beneath the surface, people are going through divorces, losing loved ones, battling depression, and facing life-altering diagnoses. As Adrian Rogers once said, "You never know what someone is going through. Be kind always."

Kindness and patience should not be contingent on what we see or what we think someone deserves. Instead, we should extend love and grace freely, just as Christ has done for us. We are called to be a light in this world, offering hope and compassion to those who are hurting.

Today, let us challenge ourselves to look beyond the surface and treat everyone with an extra measure of patience, kindness, and love. We may never know the impact of our actions, but we can trust that God will use our obedience to touch lives and heal hearts.

Remember, "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy" (Matthew 5:7, KJV). As we extend grace to others, we open ourselves up to receive God's grace in our own lives.

In this story, a British pastor and his young son entered an expensive store with a strict policy: "Do not touch any breakages, much must be purchased." Despite the clear warning, the pastor found himself gently touching the items around him. However, his 4-year-old son, Michael, was not as gentle and accidentally knocked over a large, expensive item.

The store manager appeared, simply pointing to the sign. The pastor knew he couldn't leave the store and expect his young son to pay for the damage he had caused. Michael was unable to pay the debt he owed.

This story serves as a powerful reminder of our own spiritual condition. We all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). Just like Michael, we have created a debt that we cannot pay on our own. The wages of our sin is death, and we are unable to redeem ourselves.

But God, in His infinite love and mercy, provided a way for our debt to be paid. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the price that we could never afford. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Just as the pastor had to pay for his son's damages, our Heavenly Father has paid our sin debt through Jesus Christ. When we accept this precious gift by faith, our debt is canceled, and we receive the promise of eternal life.

Let us give thanks for the incredible love and sacrifice of our Savior, who paid a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay. May we live our lives in gratitude and devotion to Him.

The Goodness Of God Ps. 27;13 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Psalm 27:13, "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."

In the midst of life's storms and challenges, it is easy to become fixated on the problems that surround us, causing our minds to be held captive by negativity and fear. But the Lord desires to set us free from this bondage, as stated in John 8:36, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

As you go forth from this place, may you choose to focus your eyes on the goodness of God, trusting that He is at work even when circumstances seem dire. May you find freedom in His presence, knowing that He is able to turn your mourning into dancing and your sorrow into joy, as written in Psalm 30:11, "Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness."

And may you always remember that the Lord is faithful and that His mercies are new every morning. As you seek His face and look for His goodness, may you find it in abundance, even in the land of the living. May you be filled with hope and peace, knowing that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ, as promised in Philippians 1:6.

As you go through your day receive this blessing may you… see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."

Real Love

Verse: "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;" - 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (KJV)

In my recent sermon on 1 Corinthians 13, I explored the true meaning of love as described in this powerful passage. I emphasized that love, or charity as it is called in the King James Version, is more than just a feeling - it is a way of life that reflects the very nature of God.

I noted how we often use the word "love" carelessly in our daily lives, applying it to everything from our favorite possessions to the people closest to us. However, the Bible presents a much deeper understanding of love. The Greek word used in this passage is "agape" - a selfless, sacrificial love that comes from God Himself.

True love, as I explained, is patient and kind. It does not envy others or boast about itself. Love honors others and seeks their good above its own. It is slow to anger and quick to forgive. These characteristics may seem impossible to live out in our own strength, but they are the fruit of a life transformed by God's love.

Through this message, I challenged my listeners to examine their own hearts and actions. Are we loving others with the same sacrificial, unconditional love that God has shown us? Or are we more concerned with our own comfort and desires?

As we meditate on this timeless passage, my prayer is that we would be inspired to love others as Christ has loved us. In a world filled with division and strife, may our lives be marked by the radical, transformative power of God's agape love.

The Invitation #RTTBROS #Nightlight

The Invitation Matt. 7:7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" (Matthew 7:7, KJV)

In our daily lives, we often find ourselves facing challenges, struggles, and moments of uncertainty. During these times, it is crucial to remember that our Heavenly Father is always present and aware of our circumstances. He is not a distant, uninformed God; rather, He is intimately acquainted with every detail of our lives.

However, God desires for us to actively seek His presence and involvement in our situations. As the verse from Matthew reminds us, we are encouraged to ask, seek, and knock. These actions demonstrate our faith, dependence, and trust in God's ability to intervene and provide for our needs.

When we pray, we are not merely informing God of our problems, for He already knows them. Instead, we are inviting Him to be involved in our lives, to guide us, and to work in and through us. Prayer is an act of humility, acknowledging that we cannot face life's challenges alone and that we need God's wisdom, strength, and provision.

God is waiting for us to take that step of faith, to seek His face, and to knock on the door of His grace. He promises that when we do so, He will respond. "For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" (Luke 11:10, KJV).

Let us approach God with confidence, knowing that He is ready and willing to be involved in every aspect of our lives. As we seek Him through prayer, studying His Word, and walking in obedience, we will experience the joy of His presence and the assurance of His love and care for us.

Paradox #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Paradox #RTTBROS #Nightlight

The Paradox Eph 4:32 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Paradox of Christian Kindness

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” - Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)

Inscribed on the wall of a ministry to the broken, rejected untouchables in Calcutta India is this poem:

Anyway Poem

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;

Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;

Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;

Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;

Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;

Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;

It was never between you and them anyway.

In a world where kindness is often met with skepticism, and sincerity with cynicism, it can be challenging to live out the Christian call to love and forgiveness. Yet, the poem by Kent M. Keith, though not scriptural, resonates with the teachings of Christ in its encouragement to persevere in goodness, regardless of the world’s response.

As believers, we are called to a higher standard – one that mirrors the character of Christ. The poem echoes the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus taught us to love our enemies and do good without seeking reward (Matthew 5:44-46). This devotion is not about the immediate gratification of earthly approval but about the eternal perspective of pleasing God.

The acts of kindness, honesty, and generosity mentioned in the poem are not means to an end but are ends in themselves. They are expressions of a heart transformed by God’s love, a testament to the work of the Holy Spirit within us. When we forgive, show kindness, and continue to build despite opposition, we are not just acting in defiance of human nature; we are living out the divine nature bestowed upon us through Christ.

In the end, our journey is not about the accolades or the acknowledgments from those around us. It is about our relationship with God. As the poem concludes, it’s between you and God – it was never between you and them anyway. This profound truth should liberate us to live boldly, love radically, and give generously, knowing that our reward is not in man’s recognition but in God’s affirmation.

So let us take heart and be encouraged to “give the world the best we’ve got anyway,” for in doing so, we reflect the best of our Creator, who gave us His very best in Jesus Christ.

Help For The Hurt Heart #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Help For The Hurting Heart John 14:18 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

"John 14:18 KJV - 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you

." - John 14:18

No one can bring true comfort to a grieving heart like Jesus can. Even the most supportive friend or relative can only do so much. The sympathy and kindness of others, while helpful, often fall short of what we truly need. Only Christ can understand the depths of our sorrow and offer the perfect words of comfort.

God knows exactly when we need His comfort the most. Sometimes, it may feel like He's waiting until the very last moment, when we're at our lowest point and ready to give up. But He always comes through with His love and support when we need it most.

God also knows exactly where we need comfort. Whether we're in a dark dungeon, a lonely wilderness, a fiery furnace, or a den of lions, He is always there to provide His mercies and bring us peace.

We can then share that peace and comfort with others who are struggling.

"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (KJV)

God's comfort is a gift that is meant to be shared. When we receive comfort from God in our times of trial, we are then equipped to pass that comfort on to others who are struggling. This creates a beautiful cycle of comfort that can help us all weather the storms of life.

As we experience God's comfort, let us remember to extend that same comfort to others who are in need. In doing so, we become vessels of God's mercy and compassion, and help to spread His love and light to those around us.

Hearing God's Voice in the Last Days. #Nightlight #NormanKissinger #NK #RTTBROS

Verse: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" - Acts 2:17 (KJV)

Devotion:

In the last days, God has promised to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, enabling believers to hear His voice and know His will for their lives. As the passage in Acts 2:17-18 states, this outpouring is not limited by age, gender, or social status. God desires to speak to each one of us more than we desire to hear from Him.

While the Bible provides principles for making decisions, it does not always give specific answers to questions like which college to attend, which car to buy, or whom to marry. In these situations, we must learn to discern God's voice and follow His leading.

Two fundamental principles for hearing God's voice are:

1. Follow the written rules - God's Word should always be our primary guide.

2. Follow our last order first - Obey what we already know God has spoken to us about doing.

God may speak to us through various means, such as dreams, visions, or thoughts impressed upon our minds. However, it is essential to test these experiences against Scripture and ensure they align with what we already know to be God's will.

Hearing God's voice is vital for the times we live in. As we seek His guidance and obey His leading, we can be effective in the ministries and tasks He has called us to do. Let us commit to spending time in prayer and in His Word, cultivating a listening heart that is attentive to His voice.

Transformed, Not Conformed #RTTBROS #nightlight #normankissinger #NK

Verse: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." - Romans 12:2 (KJV)

In this devotion, the speaker discusses the critical difference between repentance and compliance. Many parents have experienced their children professing faith when they were younger, only to find them living away from the Lord as they grew older. This raises the question: Is it enough for someone to merely change their outward behavior, or is a genuine heart transformation necessary?

The Apostle Paul states that people will either be transformed by the power of Jesus Christ or continue to conform to the world's standards. It is easy for teachers of the Gospel to assume that outward changes indicate an inward transformation, but this is not always the case. People can conform to a church, a cult, or a certain way of thinking without truly being changed by Christ from the inside out.

As workers in the gospel, it is crucial to understand, teach, and proclaim the difference between transformation and conformation. The Christian life is about being transformed into the image of the Holy God, as demonstrated in the life of Christ, rather than simply acting like a good churchgoer.

In every age, there have been conformations both in the church and in the world, with people following different groups or ways of thinking. However, it is transformation that is necessary to save America and the church as we move into the end times. Let us strive for genuine heart change through the power of Christ, rather than mere outward compliance.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV - 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Philosopher's corner enter your own risk....

You were warned.....

Still here?....

My friend that I'm doing a funeral for had a blood disease that required an infusion of platelets and Iron, two times a week for 4 hours each visit at Mountain States Tumor Institute for the last 16 years. The amazing thing about Johnny was that he had the ability to have a happy Spirit even in the midst of a lifelong battle with a debilitating disease. He could often be heard singing and whistling as he made his way through his day. As I've been thinking back over his life and looking at mine I sometimes find myself feeling sorry for myself over some difficult issue that's in my life. But I'm realizing that if we wait until everything is perfect in our life to find joy and happiness we will never find those things. A miner must move mountains of Earth before he finds ounces of gold. Perhaps we need to move aside the problems of our life and look for the happiness and joy that is all around us. but we tend not to see because we haven't done the work of moving the problems aside.

I would wager that no matter how difficult you find your life right now there's probably somebody within your network of friends and family that has things far worse than you. Perhaps just for today we can be thankful for this day and the joy and happiness that is within it. Just some random thoughts about living life with gratitude and expectancy.

Life Is a Battleground":

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. - Ephesians 6:13 (KJV)

Many people go through life expecting it to be easy and fun, like a playground built solely for their enjoyment and amusement. However, as the Bible makes clear, that notion is far from the truth. Life is in fact a battleground. As Christian teacher Adrian Rogers said, "You are in a battle—a battle for your soul, a battle for your family, a battle for your community—and you cannot be neutral."

Each day, we face an Enemy who seeks to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). We are engaged in a very real spiritual battle against the forces of evil and darkness in this fallen world. If we are not vigilant and prepared, we will be caught off guard and overcome.

Thankfully, God does not leave us defenseless. In Ephesians 6, Paul describes the armor God provides to help us stand firm:

The belt of truth

The breastplate of righteousness

Feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace

The shield of faith

The helmet of salvation

The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

When we put on the full armor of God through prayer and living by His Word, we are equipped to face the Enemy's attacks. We can stand our ground, not in our own strength, but in the mighty power of God.

Life is indeed a battleground, not a playground. But in Christ, we have everything we need to withstand the evil day and emerge victorious. So suit up, soldier! Take your stand on the unshakable promises of God's Word. And fight the good fight, knowing your ultimate triumph is sure in Jesus.

Joy In The Journey Pro 16:9 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Finding Joy in the Journey

Proverbs 16:9 KJV - 9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps

In Proverbs 16:9, we are reminded that while we may have our own plans and ideas about how our lives should go, it is God who ultimately guides our steps. This can be a difficult concept to grasp, especially when we encounter suffering and hardship along the way.

But as Helen Keller so beautifully put it, "Joy is not the absence of suffering. It is the presence of Christ in the midst of suffering." This is a powerful reminder that even in the midst of difficulty, we can find joy through our relationship with Jesus.

Perhaps you're going through a tough time right now, or maybe you've experienced suffering in the past. It can be easy to feel alone and overwhelmed, but the truth is that Christ is always with us. He never leaves our side, even in the darkest moments.

I remember a time in my own life when I was facing a significant challenge. I felt lost and unsure of how I would make it through. But as I leaned into my faith and spent time in prayer, I began to sense Christ's presence in a new and profound way. It didn't make the challenge go away, but it did give me the strength and peace I needed to keep going.

So if you're feeling discouraged or overwhelmed today, know that you're not alone. Take some time to reflect on the truth that Christ is with you, and ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a new and powerful way.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that You are always with us, even in the midst of suffering. Help us to find joy in our relationship with You, no matter what challenges we may be facing. Amen.

Are You Ashamed of Jesus? (Adrian Rogers)

Matthew 27:29-31 KJV - 29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

MATTHEW 27:29-31

Ponder This

Some years ago in New York City, there was a mother who was hanging clothes to dry outside when a fire broke out in her home with her baby inside. That mother’s face took the heat of those flames and was horribly scarred. Her hands were burned, but the baby was not touched at all by that fire. Not a hair was singed. One day that girl grew up and spoke to a friend who said, “Who is that hideous woman?” This girl said, “I don’t know,” and the mother heard.

Later, when they got home, the mother said “Darling, come here. I want to tell you something. When you were a baby, I went into a burning house and rescued you, not a hair on your head was touched, but these scars on my face and these scars on my hand are there because I rescued you from the flames.” When that daughter learned the truth, she was filled with shame and remorse. She said “Oh, my mother, can you ever forgive me?” Let us never be ashamed of Jesus and the scars He bore for our sake. How could we ever blush to speak His name or own His cause? Jesus wore my crown. The sacred mystery is that He bore the curse; the solemn misery is that He suffered our hell.

*What does it look like to live ashamed of Jesus? To live unashamed?

*Where is it difficult for you to live unashamed for Jesus?

Practice This

*Discuss with a close Christian friend what it means to live unashamed of Jesus.

He's Alive #RTTBROS #Nightlight

He's Alive #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Here is a synopsis of my Easter Sermon
Title: The Power of the Resurrection: Transforming Fear into Faith

As I reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I am reminded that it is the cornerstone of our Christian faith. It's the event that sets Christianity apart from all other religions and gives us hope in the face of death. In my Easter sermon, I explored the significance of Good Friday and Easter, the historical evidence for the resurrection, its impact on the world, and how it should transform the way we live.

I began by emphasizing that Good Friday and Easter are inseparable events. Without Christ's sacrificial death on the cross, his resurrection would lose its meaning. The crucifixion was the moment when Jesus paid the debt for our sins, and the resurrection was the proof that his payment was accepted. The empty tomb is a symbol of the hope we have in Christ.

Next, I dove into the historical evidence for the resurrection, citing eyewitness accounts recorded in 1 Corinthians 15 and the Gospel narratives. I compared believing in the resurrection to believing in other historical events based on reliable testimony. The fact that the apostles were willing to die for their belief in the risen Christ is a powerful indication that the resurrection really happened. I also pointed out that the world would be radically different if the resurrection had never occurred. The positive impact of Christianity on education, healthcare, charity, and justice throughout history is a testament to the transformative power of the resurrection.

I then shifted to discussing how the resurrection should change the way we view life and death. For believers, death is not the end but a transition to eternal life in God's presence. I compared death to a wedding, a homecoming, a banquet, and a graduation. Just as a bride is beautiful on her wedding day, we will one day be presented as a spotless bride to Christ. Just as a graduation marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, death is the doorway to a new life with God. I emphasized that only those who have put their faith in Christ have this assurance of eternal life.

Finally, I encouraged my listeners to live in light of the resurrection. Because of Christ's victory over death, we no longer need to fear the grave. We can have confidence that our labor for the Lord is not in vain, and we can share the message of hope with a lost and hurting world. I concluded with a prayer for steadfastness and boldness in serving Christ.

In a world that often feels uncertain and chaotic, the resurrection of Jesus Christ offers us an unshakable foundation for our lives. It assures us that death is not the end and that we have a living hope. As we reflect on the significance of Good Friday and Easter, may we be filled with gratitude for Christ's sacrifice and inspired to live each day in the power of his resurrection.

Three Crosses #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Three Crosses #RTTBROS #Nightlight

3 Crosses John 3:16 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 (KJV)

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is a pivotal moment in history, where three men faced three different destinies on one hill. As the quote eloquently describes:

"3 men, 3 crosses, 1 hill. One man cursed, One man prayed, one man promised. One died condemned, one died forgiven, one died innocent. One died in sin, one died to sin, one died for sin. One was held by death, one was released by death, one conquered death. One lost life, one gained life. One was life..."

In this moment, we see the stark contrast between the two thieves crucified alongside Jesus. One thief cursed and rejected Christ, dying in his sin and condemned. The other thief recognized his own guilt and the innocence of Jesus, praying for forgiveness and receiving the promise of paradise.

But the central figure, Jesus Christ, stands apart. He died innocent, without sin, yet He willingly took on the sins of the world. Through His death, He conquered death itself, making a way for all who believe in Him to have eternal life.

This powerful scene reminds us of the incredible love God has for us. He sent His only Son to die in our place, so that we might be forgiven and have everlasting life. It is a call to each of us to examine our own hearts and consider which of the three men we most resemble. Will we reject Christ and die in our sins, or will we, like the repentant thief, put our faith in Jesus and receive the gift of eternal life?

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to recognize our own sinfulness and our need for a Savior. Give us the faith to trust in Jesus, to repent of our sins, and to receive the forgiveness and eternal life that only He can give. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

God Is Good PS 100:5. #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Here's a beautiful KJV Bible verse that speaks about God's goodness:

"For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations." - Psalm 100:5 (KJV)

What about the problem of Evil? How can a good God create evil? The answer is he didn't. Listen to this exchange between a student and a professor.

Why did God create evil? The answer struck me to the core of my soul!

A professor at the university asked his students the following question:

- Everything that exists was created by God?

One student bravely answered:

- Yes, created by God.

- Did God create everything? - a professor asked.

“Yes, sir,” replied the student.

The professor asked :

- If God created everything, then God created evil, since it exists. And according to the principle that our deeds define ourselves, then God is evil.

The student became silent after hearing such an answer. The professor was very pleased with himself. He boasted to students for proving once again that faith in God is a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said:

- Can I ask you a question, professor?

"Of course," replied the professor.

A student got up and asked:

- Professor, is cold a thing?

- What kind of question? Of course it exists. Have you ever been cold?

Students laughed at the young man's question. The young man answered:

- Actually, sir, cold doesn't exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is actually the absence of heat. A person or object can be studied on whether it has or transmits energy.

Absolute zero (-460 degrees Fahrenheit) is a complete absence of heat. All matter becomes inert and unable to react at this temperature. Cold does not exist. We created this word to describe what we feel in the absence of heat.

A student continued:

- Professor, does darkness exist?

— Of course it exists.

- You're wrong again, sir. Darkness also does not exist. Darkness is actually the absence of light. We can study the light but not the darkness. We can use Newton's prism to spread white light across multiple colors and explore the different wavelengths of each color. You can't measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into the world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you tell how dark a certain space is? You measure how much light is presented. Isn't it so? Darkness is a term man uses to describe what happens in the absence of light.

In the end, the young man asked the professor:

- Sir, does evil exist?

This time it was uncertain, the professor answered:

- Of course, as I said before. We see him every day. Cruelty, numerous crimes and violence throughout the world. These examples are nothing but a manifestation of evil.

To this, the student answered:

- Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist for itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is like darkness and cold—a man-made word to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not faith or love, which exist as light and warmth. Evil is the result of the absence of Divine love in the human heart. It’s the kind of cold that comes when there is no heat, or the kind of darkness that comes when there’s no light.

Student's name was Albert Einstein..

Closed Doors Isa. 55:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." - Isaiah 55:8 (KJV)

Have you ever prayed fervently for an opportunity, only to find the door firmly shut? In those moments, it's natural to feel disappointed, confused, or even frustrated with God. We may question His goodness or wonder if He truly has our best interests at heart.

However, as believers, we must remember that God's perspective is far greater than our own. He sees the entire picture, while we only catch glimpses. What may seem like a missed opportunity or a setback to us could actually be God's way of protecting us from unseen dangers or directing us toward something better.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:9, "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps" (KJV). God is intimately involved in the details of our lives, guiding us along the path He has chosen for us. When a door closes, it may be because God knows it would lead us astray or hinder our spiritual growth.

Rather than dwelling on the closed doors, let us focus on the doors God has opened and trust that He will continue to guide us. We can find peace in knowing that every "no" from God is ultimately for our protection and His glory.

As we navigate life's challenges and uncertainties, may we cling to the truth that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Let us trust in His sovereign plan, even when we don't understand it, knowing that His grace is sufficient for every closed door we face.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me to trust in Your perfect plan, even when I don't understand why certain doors remain closed. Grant me the faith to believe that Your ways are always best and the patience to wait upon Your timing. Thank You for Your protecting hand and guiding presence in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Birthing Prayer #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Birthing Prayer 1 Kings 18:41-45 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Referring to 1 King 18:41-45

1 Kings 18:41-45 KJV - 41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

Here's the devotional:

Seven times, Elijah bows his face in prayer, taking a posture of full surrender, believing that the God of Israel would be true to His word and promise. I have often prayed with a longing that reminds me of ‘beating on heaven’s door with bruised knuckles in the dark’.*

Jesus, give me the faith today to pray again where I see nothing. Give me the companions who will wrestle with me once, twice, many times. Today, I beat on heaven’s door with bruised knuckles, calling out for rain, believing for revival, longing for more of Your presence in my life.

I think of places where I have seen cynicism and criticism against God’s promises or where doubt or distrust have taken root in the hearts of my friends and companions.

Holy Spirit, will You soften hearts that have grown hard? Guard my community from believing anything less than the best about Your love and Your work in our lives. Resurrect ideas and beliefs that have grown dry.

Father, give me companions who long for Your presence. Provoke in me a hunger to discover with my friends the way You are at work. Give us prayers of bold faith, believing that You are kinder than we ever dared imagine.

Having the Mind of Christ #nightlight #NK #RTTBROS #normankissinger

Verse: "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ." - 1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)

As believers, we have been given an incredible privilege - access to the mind of Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we can understand God's will and the thoughts of Christ. This is a mystery that we may not fully comprehend, but we can trust that the Holy Spirit is glorifying the Father and the Son in our lives and speaking on their behalf.

As humans, our default is to struggle with the desires of the flesh. However, as Christians, we have the Holy Spirit to wage war against these desires in our minds and hearts. With the mind of Christ, we can know what Christ is thinking about an issue and, therefore, know what to do. By staying close to God through His Word and prayer, we can better understand how Christ would respond to various situations.

When we are intimately connected with someone, such as a spouse, we often know their preferences and thoughts without even asking. Similarly, the more we listen to, read, and study God's Word, the more we will understand how Christ would think about different issues. This understanding allows us to minister to others more effectively and respond to day-to-day situations in a way that aligns with Christ's mind.

As we rejoice in this wonderful privilege of having the mind of Christ, let us commit to staying connected to Him through His Word and prayer. By doing so, we can live more effective lives and minister to others in a way that brings glory to God.

Prayer Care #RTTBROS #Nightlight

The therapeutic value of prayer again. Philippians 4:6-7 by Norman Kissinger#Nightlight#RTTBROS

Normankissinger video on phone

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7, KJV)

In this familiar passage from Philippians, the Apostle Paul encourages us not to be anxious, but to bring all our concerns to God in prayer, with a heart of thanksgiving. When we earnestly cry out to the Lord, even about problems that seem unsolvable from our limited perspective, He promises to guard our hearts and minds with His supernatural peace.

While prayer is not merely a therapeutic exercise for our own emotional wellbeing, pouring out our hearts before God does have a profound impact on our mental and spiritual health. Even scientific research affirms that those with a vibrant faith and consistent involvement in a church community are far less likely to struggle with anxiety, depression, and other issues.

Though we may not always receive the answers we hope for, we can trust that as we draw near to God, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). In His presence, fears are calmed, burdens are lifted, and we gain an eternal perspective on the trials of this life.

So let us approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16), casting all our cares upon Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). May our hearts find rest in Him alone

Set Your Standards #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Set Your Standards #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Set Your Standards Dan 1:8 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

The Power of Setting Standards

Daniel 1:8 (KJV) - "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself."

In life, we are constantly faced with choices that can either lead us closer to God or further away from Him. Just as we set a speed limit on our car's cruise control to prevent accidents and maintain a safe journey, we must also set standards in our lives to guard against spiritual danger and remain faithful to God.

In the book of Daniel, we see a powerful example of setting godly standards. Daniel and his friends were taken captive to Babylon, where they were pressured to conform to the customs and practices of the pagan culture. However, Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's food and wine. He set a standard for himself based on his commitment to God's laws and his desire to remain pure.

Like Daniel, we must be intentional about setting standards in our lives that align with God's Word. These standards act as boundaries that protect us from compromising our faith and falling into temptation. When we establish clear guidelines for our behavior, thoughts, and actions, we create a safer path for our spiritual journey.

Setting standards requires courage and determination. It may mean going against the flow of popular culture or facing opposition from others who don't share our values. However, when we purpose in our hearts to live according to God's standards, He gives us the strength and wisdom to stand firm.

Just as cruise control helps us maintain a consistent speed on the highway, our spiritual standards help us maintain a consistent walk with God. They keep us from veering off course and help us stay focused on our ultimate destination – eternal life with Christ.

As you go through your day, take a moment to reflect on the standards you have set for your life. Are they aligned with God's Word? Do they help you stay on the path of righteousness? If not, ask God to help you establish new standards that will keep you safe and secure in your faith.

Remember, setting standards is not about legalism or earning God's favor. It's about honoring God with our lives and staying true to our commitment to Him. When we purpose in our hearts to live according to His standards, we can experience the joy and peace that comes from walking in obedience to our loving Heavenly Father.

Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for the example of Daniel and his unwavering commitment to Your standards. Help me to purpose in my heart to live according to Your Word and to set standards that honor You. Give me the courage and strength to stand firm in my faith, even when it means going against the flow of the world. May my life be a living testament to Your goodness and grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Locked In The Past Eph 4:32 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Locked in the Past: Learning to Forgive and Move Forward

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:32, KJV)

In the wilderness, two bucks found themselves in a fierce battle, their antlers locked together in a seemingly unbreakable embrace. As the struggle continued, one of the deer eventually succumbed to exhaustion and died. The surviving buck, still entangled with his lifeless adversary, was forced to drag the dead weight of his fallen foe wherever he went.

A hunter, witnessing the scene and moved with compassion, used a folding shovel from his pack to carefully separate the two animals. Freed from his burden, the living buck had a chance to start anew. However, instead of embracing his freedom, he immediately turned back to attack his deceased enemy, consumed by the identity he had built around this single conflict.

How often do we find ourselves in a similar predicament? We become so entangled in our past hurts, grudges, and conflicts that we allow them to define us. Even when the opportunity for freedom presents itself, we cling to our pain, unable to let go and move forward.

The Bible teaches us that forgiveness is essential for spiritual growth and personal peace. Christ, our ultimate example, forgave those who persecuted and crucified Him, saying, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34, KJV). As followers of Christ, we are called to extend that same forgiveness to others, no matter how deeply they have wounded us.

Forgiveness does not mean excusing or forgetting the wrong that was done, but rather choosing to release the burden of bitterness and resentment. It is a decision to trust God with the outcome and to focus on the future He has planned for us. When we forgive, we open the door to healing, restoration, and the ability to live lives of excellence.

Let us learn from the story of the entangled bucks and refuse to be defined by our past struggles. May we embrace the freedom that comes through forgiveness and, with God's help, move forward into the abundant life He has promised us.

Wanting To Justify Ourselves #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT #NK #Normankissinger

Title: Wanting to Justify Ourselves

"And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?" (Luke 10:28-29, KJV)

In Luke chapter 10, a lawyer questions Jesus about inheriting eternal life. Jesus affirms that loving God completely and loving your neighbor as yourself is the right answer. But then we see something revealing - the lawyer, "wanting to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?"

He was looking to define the limits of who he was obligated to love, likely because he knew he had fallen short. As the commentary points out, this desire to "justify ourselves" is still common today. We want to be the ones who decide if our behavior is acceptable, rather than looking to God's standards. We're seeking to stay in control and avoid feeling guilty.

But the parable of the Good Samaritan that follows makes it clear - our "neighbor" is anyone in need, regardless of circumstances or how the world views them. We don't get to draw boundary lines that keep our selfishness and prejudice intact.

True righteousness comes not from self-justification, but from humbling ourselves before God, admitting our inability to meet His standards on our own, and throwing ourselves on His mercy. It comes from placing our lives under the authority of God's Word and our relationship with Christ.

May we recognize the folly and futility of seeking to justify ourselves, and instead find true justification by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Then we can love God and others with the freedom and wholeheartedness He desires. Amen.

Before Us Deut 3:18 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

"The LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." - Deuteronomy 31:8 (KJV)

Devotion:

In our journey through life, we often face challenges, uncertainties, and obstacles that can leave us feeling overwhelmed and alone. However, as believers in Christ, we have the assurance that God goes before us, preparing the way and guiding our steps.

The verse from Deuteronomy 31:8 reminds us of this profound truth. Moses, speaking to the Israelites, encourages them with the knowledge that the Lord Himself goes ahead of them. This promise is not just for the Israelites, but for all of God's children throughout the ages.

When we trust in God and follow His leading, we can have confidence that He has already gone before us. He knows the path we will take, the trials we will face, and the victories we will experience. As the Psalmist declares, "Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways" (Psalm 139:3, KJV).

God's presence before us means that we are never truly alone. He is with us every step of the way, providing strength, wisdom, and courage when we need it most. As Isaiah 45:2 (KJV) states, "I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight." God's love and grace smooth out the rough patches and straighten the winding roads of our lives.

Moreover, God's promise to never fail or forsake us is a source of great comfort. Even when we stumble or face setbacks, God remains faithful. "For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5, KJV). We can rest assured that God's love and presence are constant and unwavering.

As we face the unknown, let us remember that God goes before us. We need not fear or be dismayed, for He is our guide, our protector, and our ever-present help. Trust in His leading, follow His path, and embrace the peace that comes from knowing that the Lord Himself is with you always

Rainman Revelation 1 Peter 1:3-4 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

1 Peter 1:3-4 - "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,"

My friend Steve Trail wrote the following devotional thought read it and receive your inheritance...

""Rain Man" was the top moneymaking film of 1988, and also won the Oscar for Best Picture. It tells the story of an abrasive and selfish wheeler-dealer named Charlie (Tom Cruise), who discovers that his estranged father has died and bequeathed all of his multimillion-dollar estate to his other son, Raymond (Dustin Hoffman), an autistic savant, of whose existence Charlie was unaware. At first, Charlie is only focused on getting a bigger share of the inheritance, but over the course of the movie he grows to care more about his autistic brother Raymond. Raymond has inherited almost 3 million dollars, but has no understanding of what that means, and no real concept of money. Because of his autism, he only cares about minute things like apple juice and Cheetos and watching “The People’s Court” on TV. He has received an enormous inheritance, but doesn’t understand it, and doesn’t live like it.

How many of us live with a kind of spiritual autism? God has prepared for us an unimaginable inheritance and promises to provide for our every need; but even though we’ve heard that and say we believe that, why do we still spend so much of our time worrying about the apple juice, Cheetos, and TV shows in our lives?"

First Down Driven #RTTBROS #Nightlight

First Down Driven #RTTBROS #Nightlight

First Down 1.Cor 4:2 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Title: First Downs to Touchdown: A Journey of Faithfulness

"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." (1 Corinthians 4:2, KJV)

In the game of football, there are two common approaches: being touchdown driven or being first down driven. Many players make the mistake of focusing solely on scoring a touchdown, taking foolish chances and ultimately losing the game. However, those who are first down driven understand that consistent progress, one first down at a time, is the key to success.

This principle applies to our spiritual lives as well. In our walk with God, we often find ourselves tempted to pursue grand, flashy displays of faith or to seek immediate results. We want the touchdown—the instant gratification, the impressive testimony, or the miraculous breakthrough. But God calls us to be faithful in the small things, to trust in His timing, and to make steady progress in our relationship with Him.

The Bible reminds us that "the just shall live by faith" (Habakkuk 2:4, KJV). This faith is not a one-time, all-or-nothing event, but a daily commitment to trust and obey God. It's about consistently seeking Him, studying His Word, and applying it to our lives. When we focus on gaining spiritual first downs—growing in character, serving others, and deepening our prayer life—we create a strong foundation for lasting impact.

Just as a football team that consistently gains first downs will eventually reach the end zone, a life built on faithful obedience to God will bear fruit in due season. As we trust in His guidance and timing, He will lead us to the ultimate touchdown—a life that brings glory to His name and blesses those around us.

So, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2, KJV), and commit to being first down driven. May we faithfully take each step, knowing that as we do, God will guide us to the victories He has prepared for us.

Trauma Training Room 8:28 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28 (KJV)

In the book of Genesis, we read the story of Joseph, a man who faced immense trauma and hardship, yet emerged victorious through his faith in God. Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers, sold into slavery, and unjustly imprisoned. However, he did not allow these traumatic experiences to define him or destroy his spirit. Instead, Joseph used his trials as training grounds to strengthen his character, deepen his trust in God, and prepare him for the incredible purpose God had in store.

Through each painful circumstance, Joseph learned valuable lessons. In slavery, he developed diligence, integrity, and the ability to thrive under adverse conditions. In prison, he honed his interpersonal skills, his gift of dream interpretation, and his unwavering hope in God's deliverance. Little did Joseph know that these very skills, forged in the fires of affliction, would one day elevate him to a position of influence and authority, enabling him to save countless lives during a devastating famine.

Like Joseph, we may face traumas, hardships, and injustices that seem insurmountable. Yet, as children of God, we can trust that He is working all things together for our good and His glory. Our trials are not meaningless; they are divinely orchestrated training grounds where we can cultivate resilience, faith, and the very skills we need to fulfill our God-given purpose.

So, when faced with trauma, let us not despair or become bitter. Instead, let us embrace the opportunity to grow, to learn, and to allow God to shape us into the men and women He has called us to be. Let us, like Joseph, fix our eyes on God's unfailing love and faithfulness, knowing that our present sufferings are but a prelude to the glorious plans He has in store.

Remember, your trauma is not your destiny; it is your training ground. Trust in God's sovereign hand, and allow Him to use your trials to mold you, refine you, and prepare you for the incredible purpose He has ordained for your life.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT GUIDES #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Philippians 3:17-20

Choose the Right Guide

In today's world, we are constantly bombarded with an array of influences vying for our attention and allegiance. From social media influencers to political figures, it's easy to get caught up in following the wrong crowd. However, as believers, we are called to be discerning in choosing whom we follow and allow to guide our lives.

In Philippians 3:17-20, the Apostle Paul urges the brethren to follow his example and the example of those who walk according to the pattern they have set. He warns against following those who are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, and who focus solely on earthly things.

As Christians, our ultimate guide should always be Jesus Christ. He is the perfect example of how to live a life pleasing to God. By studying His Word and seeking to emulate His character, we can ensure that we are on the right path.

Furthermore, it's crucial to surround ourselves with fellow believers who can encourage and support us in our walk with Christ. We should look for mentors and leaders who exemplify godly living and can provide wise counsel when we face challenges.

Paul reminds us that our conversation, or citizenship, is in heaven. This means that while we may reside on earth, our true home is with Christ. We should not get so caught up in the temporary pleasures and pursuits of this world that we lose sight of our eternal destination.

As we await the return of our Savior, let us fix our eyes on Him and choose to follow His leading. May we be discerning in the influences we allow into our lives and strive to be examples of godly living to those around us.

In a world filled with conflicting voices and ideologies, let us choose the right guide – Jesus Christ – and walk faithfully in His footsteps.

Preach The Word #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Preach The Word #RTTBROS #Nightlight #Normankissinger #NK

Preach the Word

"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." - 2 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV)

In this passage, the Apostle Paul, sensing that his time on earth was short, imparts wisdom and exhortation to his son in the faith, Timothy. Paul's words ring true not only for the times in which they were written but also for the challenges we face in our current culture. As believers, we must heed Paul's charge to "Preach the word" with unwavering commitment and courage.

The temptation to seek popularity and avoid confrontation can be strong for preachers, especially when delivering messages that may not be well-received by the world. However, we must remember that our ultimate goal is to proclaim the whole counsel of God, not just the "happy" or "fun" parts of His Word. We are called to preach the truth, even when it is sobering or uncomfortable.

In our current cultural climate, it is alarming to see how far society has strayed from biblical principles. The rise of "wokeness" and the acceptance of bizarre and unbiblical ideas demonstrate the urgent need for the Church to stand firm on the foundation of God's Word. We must not shy away from addressing the issues of our day in light of Scripture, even if it means facing opposition or ridicule.

Interestingly, we are witnessing a phenomenon where even non-Christians are beginning to recognize the absurdity of some of the ideas being promoted in our culture. They are standing up for truth and common sense, even if they do not yet know the Source of all truth. This should serve as a wake-up call for the Church to be even bolder in proclaiming the gospel and the unchanging truths of God's Word.

As we navigate these challenging times, let us remember Paul's charge to Timothy: "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." May we be faithful to this calling, relying on the power of the Holy Spirit to give us the courage and wisdom we need to stand firm and proclaim the truth in love.

Let us pray for a renewed commitment to preaching the Word, both in our own lives and in the Church as a whole. May we be a light in the darkness, pointing people to the hope and truth found only in Jesus Christ.
